Are you preparing for NEET PG 2026, the INI-CET November 2025, or the FMGE December 2025? If yes, then this strategy note is for you.

“Why should I give Grand Tests (GTs) when I am already studying through recorded or live classes?”
The simple answer is that GTs can decide your final rank. So avoiding GTs can be a big mistake in your preparation.

Why Are Grand Tests So Important?
If you are not giving GTs, that means you are making major mistakes in your exam preparation. Here are some important points that why GTs important:
- First Step: Track Your Progress:
- Just studying without evaluation is incomplete.
- With the help of GTs, you can analyse your preparation and like whether you are moving in the right direction for an MCQ-based exam.
- Stimulate Real Exam Condition: Feel the Pressure
- You experience tension, time limitations, and an adrenaline surge during an actual exam.
- GTs mimic the same atmosphere, preparing your mind and body to perform under pressure.
- Improve Accuracy & Reduce Silly Mistakes: Avoid Negative Marking
- Many students make avoidable mistakes in exams.
- GTs help in minimising these errors and directly improve your rank.
- Spot Weak Areas Early:
- GTs show whether you are weak in numericals, fact-based questions, or certain topics.
- Identifying and fixing these gaps early saves you from costly mistakes in the final exam.

Which GTs Should You Attempt?
- Attempt GTs that closely simulate the real exam pattern.
- Choose a platform where GTs are chosen by faculty themselves, like Cerebellum Academy—this ensures that quality questions and proper explanations are provided.
- Prefer GTs that come with detailed solutions or video discussions. So that you can clear your doubts on the same day.
- Use platforms that provide analytics to track progress, accuracy, and comparison with peers.
What If Your GT Scores Are Not Improving?
This is one of the biggest worries for students. Many feel like stopping GTs if the scores don’t go up. But that is a mistake.
- Remember: GTs are practice tools, not the final result.
- They help in releasing your actual condition, and if marks are not improving, it means you need to strengthen concepts, revise PYQs, and focus on weak areas.
- Scores may remain static for a while, but the overall trend should go upwards with consistent effort.

How to Make the Best Use of GTs?
- Give GTs with Full Preparation – Don’t make excuses like “I’m still on this subject.”
- Analysis on the Same Day – The main benefit is in reviewing mistakes immediately.
- Maintain a GT Notebook – Write down tricky points, wrong attempts, and high-yield facts. This has become your go-to book in the last 10–15 days.
- Use Analytics – Monitor whether your accuracy and speed are improving.
How Often Should You Give GTs?
- Ideally: 1 every 2–3 weeks
- Minimum: 2 per month
- In the last 4–5 months before the exam: increase frequency
- Mock Tests should be attempted additionally, as they are full simulations of the real exam.
👉 Only exception: If your exam is very close and your latest GT scores are very low, you may skip the last one or two GTs to avoid anxiety.
Final Words
Grand Tests are not optional—they are the foundation of your preparation strategy. You can’t ignore GTs. They are useful to sharpen your accuracy, reduce silly mistakes, highlight weak areas, and give you the confidence needed for the final day of the exam.
So friends, stay consistent, analyse every test, and keep improving. Your rank depends on it.
All the best,
