Dear Students,
Thank you for the immense trust and support you have shown BTR (and me) over the past year. With the launch of BTR 2.0, our aim is to consolidate essential information into a single, efficient revision tool that you can use repeatedly and effectively.
The name “Buri Tarah Ratto” might sound amusing, but it is a nod to how our seniors at AIIMS used to mark our textbooks just before the exam for last-minute review of the most important information. This is a tribute to that legacy which I am now taking forward for NEET PG preparation. While it may seem that the curriculum is all about memorization, BTR is designed to balance both concepts and facts, facilitating effective retention of both. This book represents years of hard work, distilled into a concise format. It covers 19 subjects in a way that delivers essential information as efficiently as possible.
When BTR was first introduced, it was a novel concept that evoked a range of reactions, from admiration to criticism for promoting “Rattna.” Over time, I have seen students (and myself) slowly adapting to the concept and finally understanding the essence of how to use BTR. The idea is to provide the most crucial information in one place. You NEED to master it. It won’t come from a single read-through; it requires multiple reviews and video sessions. Annotate the book while watching the videos, use it for active recall and revision, and avoid treating it as mere reading material. Active recall is essential: try to recall in your and /or teach the content from memory before consulting the notes for better retention. Mastering BTR gives you a very strong base, and now you need to really do “active surveillance” and find the topics that are either weak for you or asked multiple times and go in depth for those using main videos/ notes/ textbooks. MCQ solving is crucial. Learn from your mistakes. Don’t shy away from introspection. Apart from reducing “silly mistakes” from stuff you have read, learn how you learn how to solve questions based on what you know using elimination and intelligent guess work.
“The magic you’re looking for is in the work you’re avoiding.”
Best of luck with your exams! May your hard work lead to success and fulfilment.
God bless you
