Dear students,
When exam results don’t match your expectations, it is natural to feel lost, overwhelmed, and disappointed. But one result cannot measure your worth, your future, or your potential. Dr. Apurv Mehra’s words are a powerful reminder that
“Life is far bigger than an exam, and setbacks are not endings — they are turning points.”
Below is his message, arranged cleanly into a readable blog format, without altering the original essence.
When Life Feels Unfair
I am not saying that nothing went wrong in that season of life. I studied more, I had more intelligence—if I claim that, I might be wrong. Someone once said, “Everything burnt—what was left?” Another replied, “Whatever was left saved me; what burnt didn’t matter.”
When you feel broken, you have not lost anything. Nothing is lost. You just get shaken. Things that are temporary feel painful. Something inside you today wants to stand again.
Understanding Phases and Seasons of Life
When something hurts, when something touches your heart, it feels heavy. But life keeps moving.
There are phases. There are cycles. One day, everything settles. People say, “Not today, maybe tomorrow.” You understand it only with time.
If your story is being written, write it in a way that it becomes something extraordinary. Don’t hold yourself back.
Your Worth Is Not Defined by Numbers
Your journey, your struggles, your mileage—these matter. Degrees do not define you; they do not decide your worth. They are just numbers. Numbers alone never decide the real player.
The number does not show your level. It is just a symbol. But do not hide behind that. Do not say you are finished. You are not. The number is not your identity
When You Are Hurt, Work With Honesty
Today might feel difficult. Maybe something is slipping. But every difficult phase can be fixed with one condition: you must work on it.
When you fail, ask yourself: Why did it happen? This is the time to find the reason. Identify the factors.
Many blame luck or destiny. It is fine to say destiny wasn’t on your side. But also be objective. See what actually went wrong and how you can correct it.
The Stage Is Still Warm — You Can Still Transform
This is the best stage. It is still warm. You can still mould it. You can still transform yourself.
Learning never ends. Do not say you are finished. Do not say you lost your fighting spirit. You still have it.
Stay calm. Keep your balance.
Cerebellum always teaches—keep your balance right.
Don’t Give Up — Courage Is Destiny
This is the time, my friends. And I might sound harsh when not even 36 hours have passed, but I still want to tell you—don’t give up. Courage is destiny.
Everyone around me was getting selected. I was not. It broke me completely. Life felt like it had stopped. But something inside me said:
I will play.
I will fight.
I will rise.
And that is what matters.
Walk on Your Own Feet
We are fortunate that we even get a chance. If you feel you have that spark in you—go for it. Do not stop.
It is said, “It is better to keep walking than to sit still.” If we walk on our own feet, we keep walking. That is what you must do.
No one is coming to rescue you. You have to be your own guiding light.
Become a Fitter, Move Toward a Better Destiny
The struggle is forever. It is survival of the fittest.
Find out what suits you. Become fitter. You will naturally move toward a better destiny.
A Story of the Crab and the Ocean
A crab was walking on the seashore, leaving small, beautiful footprints. Suddenly, a wave washed the footprints away. The crab looked angrily at the ocean. The ocean replied:
“I am wiping your footprints because a hunter might track you. I am protecting you.”
You never know what destiny is preparing for you. Delay is not denial. Delay is preparation for something better.
Life Is Bigger Than One Exam
Life is never about one exam or one institute.
Life is much bigger. Life shapes you into something greater.
All the very best.
Thank you very much.
