6 FMGE Attempts, 1 Dream: Dr. Abinandhan Karthik’s FMGE Journey of Not Giving  Up

FMGE Result

Are you tired of giving repeated FMGE? Feeling hopeless and don’t have the courage to try again?

Wake up, and you can’t give up now. Sometimes success doesn’t come overnight; sometimes it takes more time than usual, but if you are honest and fully devoted to your dream, then one day it will be yours. Today, I am sharing such a motivational story that will give you hope that yes, you can do it. Yes, you can qualify FMGE exam.

Here is the Journey of Dr. Abinandhan Karthik cleared the FMGE with a score of 162 — a number that came after six attempts, years of personal and academic setbacks, and a journey defined by quiet resilience.

His story isn’t one of shortcuts or instant success. It’s a story of showing up, staying true to the process, and believing — even when nothing seems to be working.

A Journey Marked by Setbacks

Abinandhan pursued his MBBS from China. Like many students, the pandemic interrupted his clinical years. Stranded in India for nearly three years, he attempted FMGE four times before graduation using a provisional certificate, but all were unsuccessful.

He graduated in 2024 and wrote the December 2024 attempt, narrowly missing the cutoff with 148 marks. July 2025 was his final shot — and this time, everything aligned.

But it didn’t happen overnight. What made the difference was a complete shift in mindset and preparation strategy.

The Shift: From Confusion to Clarity

After repeated failures, Abinandhan decided to stop chasing multiple sources. On his sister’s recommendation — Dr. Nandini, now a radiologist in Bangalore — he turned to Cerebellum’s BTR By Dr. Zainab Vora).

He started with the basic BTR plan, then upgraded to Mission 200+, and followed the structured video schedule. He didn’t just watch and forget — he annotated his BTR book, marked weak topics, added layers when needed, and revised it thoroughly.

After missing by 2 marks in his fifth attempt, he purchased the annotated BTR book, which helped sharpen his focus even more. That became his one and only source.

A New Environment, A New Energy

Dr. Abinandhan attended an offline BTR at Vidya Jeevan in Delhi, which he described as a turning point.

In a hall full of 800+ students, a simple “hi” from his mentor boosted his morale. It was the encouragement he needed to reset his mindset after another failed attempt.

There, he met a senior from Chandigarh who told him, “Forget how many times you’ve failed. Just follow BTR like you’re sitting in class.” From July 1st, he followed a strict 9 AM to 9 PM BTR-like schedule at his library, with breaks timed like an actual class.

He stuck to it — consistently, quietly — for four straight weeks.

Exam Day: Calm, Visual, Ready

Dr. Abinandhan appeared for FMGE July 2025 at a centre in Lucknow. He walked in with a calm mind and a focused approach.

He used the E&D 6.0 strategy — eliminating wrong options first, then selecting the correct one — which helped him avoid silly mistakes. He watched the Mega BTR session again during his train ride to Lucknow.

Everything came together. The questions, the images, even one he remembered from an offline BTR Derma class — all showed up in the exam.

The final result matched his last Grand Test exactly: 162 marks.
