INI CET Topper’s Choice: Cerebellum Academy From Preparation to INI CET Rank 1: Dr. Sairam’s Journey with BTR by Dr. Zainab Vora

Dr. Sairam’s

Cerebellum Academy is truly on cloud nine today as one of our own, a dedicated BTR learner, Dr. Sairam, has achieved the incredible: Rank 1 in INICET November 2025. Moments like these make the entire Cerebellum family burst with pride, because they remind us why we do what we do. Watching our students rise, conquer their fears, trust the process, and then stand at the very top… there’s no better feeling.

Dr. Sairam shared how BTR became the turning point of his preparation. We couldn’t be happier or more grateful.

What Does It Take to Reach Rank 1?

When asked what truly leads to Rank 1, Sairam keeps it real:

“Consistency, discipline… It’s everything coming together from MBBS, internship, and then preparation.”

He studied at JIPMER, where the academic environment was strict. Though it felt stressful back then, the emphasis on textbooks eventually paid off.

He shares how the pandemic unexpectedly strengthened his basics:

“I had so much time to read textbooks. My first- and second-year subjects became really strong, and INI CET focuses so much on pre- and paraclinical subjects.”

His clinical postings and internship, though hectic, added real-world understanding—something INICET questions tap into.

The Importance of Instinct in INICET

Dr. Zainab highlights how INICET often tests instincts built over years.

“It’s not something you read last week… It’s every small moment turning into an unexplainable instinct.”

Dr. Sairam agrees:

“Instinct is basically memory plus experience.”

When the Idea of Entrance Prep Became Serious?

Dr. Sairam admits he started late:

“I’m a late bloomer… I started only after the internship.”

His zeroth attempt gave him a rank of around 2.8k with minimal preparation.

And here comes the turning point…

The Moment Cerebellum’s BTR Entered His Life

He didn’t even know about BTR during his internship.

“My friend introduced me to it. He said there’s a program in Chennai—ma’am will teach for four days. I thought, okay, let’s give it a shot.”

Those four days changed everything.

“I loved it so much—the mnemonics, the teaching style… it resonated with me.”

But at this point, he still hadn’t done the online BTR.

INI CET & NEET  PG Attempts: The Wake-Up Call

After NEET PG didn’t go as expected (Rank 3.7k), he realised something critical was missing.

“My friend did only BTR + PYQs and got Rank 22 in NEET.”

That’s when he understood the value of structure. “I knew BTR was the missing piece.”

He started BTR seriously—every T&D, every video, live and recorded.

What Actually Changed This Time?

He says it clearly:

“It IS BTR. I don’t feel compelled to say anything else. The major change was BTR.”

Along with that, he built discipline—tracking study hours, setting routines, and showing up every day.

Exam Day: 9th November Mindset

Before starting the exam, he was nervous.

But something from Mega INI BTR stayed with him:

“If I change an answer, I have to convince ma’am why I’m changing it.”

After the first 10–15 questions, he felt the paper was going well.

Walking Out: Did Rank 1 Seem Possible?

“No way, ma’am… maybe top 100, but never Rank 1.”

He checked his answers in the recall session and estimated around 160 correct, solid, but never imagined AIR-1.

What’s Next?

He is considering a career in General Medicine—either at JIPMER or AIIMS Delhi.

He also acknowledges the responsibility of being Rank 1:

“We stand on the shoulders of giants… now we need to pass on the legacy.”
